Help for providers
How accounts, listings, Gold and payment work on The Education Directory. If your question isn’t answered here, contact us.
Creating an account
Register with your business details and email address. You don’t choose a password on the form: we email you a link to set one, and the link works for one hour. If it has expired, “Forgot your password?” on the sign-in page sends another.
Claiming your listing
If your business is already in the directory, claim the listing: search for it by name, and we send a six-digit code to the email address the directory holds for the business. Enter the code and the listing is yours to manage. Each code works for thirty minutes, and we can send up to three codes for a listing.
If you can’t access that email address, choose “I can’t access that email” and tell us how we can confirm the business is yours (a matching website or phone number, for instance). An editor checks the claim, usually within a business day; once it is approved the listing appears under your account, ready to edit.
Your listing
Edit your listings from your account. A new listing starts as a draft that only you can see; publish it from your account when it is ready, and unpublish it whenever you want it off the site. Edits to a listing that is already live show within about ten minutes. A draft can be deleted from your account (unpublish a live listing first); a listing that renews by card is deleted once the card plan is cancelled from your billing page and its paid year ends, so the card is never charged for a listing that is gone. An editor may suspend a listing that breaks the rules; contact us if that happens to yours.
A Free listing has your contact details, a logo, one subcategory and the core filters (year level, curriculum area, cost and duration). Free listings have no enquiry form; teachers contact you by the phone number on the listing.
The editor shows the details for your listing’s type, whether excursion, incursion or camp, beside the core filters; those type details, with curriculum alignment, learning outcomes, teacher resources, availability and compliance, are kept on a Free listing and appear on the page once it is Gold.
A Gold listing adds a cover photo and a gallery of up to 20 photos, up to 5 videos, up to 5 subcategories, a link to your website and social pages, a longer description, every filter and named programs, a Gold badge and featured placement on the home and category pages. Enquiries go straight to your email address, and every enquiry is listed in your account.
Gold
Gold is bought per listing, for one year: $450.00 plus GST ($495.00 including GST). A provider with several listings pays for each one. The pricing page compares Free and Gold side by side, and the “Go Gold” button on a listing in your account starts the upgrade.
Paying
Card. A card plan renews automatically each year. Manage the card, download tax invoices or cancel from the billing portal on your billing page.
PayPal. One year, paid up front. We remind you before it ends; renewing is a new payment.
Invoice. On the listing’s Go Gold page choose “Pay by invoice” (add a purchase order number if you need one) and “Email me an invoice”: we issue a tax invoice, due thirty days after it is issued, payable by bank transfer or card. Gold starts when the invoice is paid.
Paying while a Gold year is still running, whichever way you pay, adds a year to the current end date rather than starting over.
Renewal and grace
For PayPal, invoice and cancelled card plans we email a reminder thirty days before the year ends and again seven days before. Gold stays on for 7 days after the end date. After that the listing stays live as a Free listing: your photos, videos and details are kept, hidden from the public page, and come back the moment Gold is renewed.
Cancelling and refunds
A card plan is cancelled from the billing portal on your billing page. It keeps Gold until the end of the year you have paid for and then does not renew; you can pay another way for the year after. PayPal and invoice payments are for one year and simply end. For anything else about a payment, contact us.
Enquiries
A teacher’s enquiry about a Gold listing goes straight to the listing’s email address (or your account email if the listing has none) with the teacher as the reply-to, so you answer them directly, and every enquiry is also listed under Enquiries in your account for a year after it is sent. A Free listing has no enquiry form: teachers reach you by the phone number on the listing.
Contact
Anything else, from a listing that needs changing to a question about billing: contact us and we reply by email.
